It’s been awhile since I’ve shared an update on the blog. Time has been flying by. I’m in disbelief that it’s almost April yet also so happy that spring is here. We have been spending a good deal of our time outside — commuting to school, on walks around the neighborhood, at the playground — and it feels incredible. Even though it hasn’t been that warm yet, the sunshine alone is enough to bring us outdoors.
Everyone asks how having a baby in the winter has differed from having a baby in the summer months. I actually was dreading having a November baby because I thought it would make me more susceptible to PPD and feeling down. In actuality, I think the frigid temperatures and icy conditions were the perfect excuse to hunker down and stay cozy. I really gave myself plenty of room to breathe and learn with Remy in those first few weeks… and I have to wonder if the weather helped.
Anyway, I am grateful that now we’ve come out the other end and at almost five months old, Remy is loving the sunshine just like his mama.
Matt was at a conference last weekend. Milo, Remy and I spent a night over my parents house and minus multiple wake-ups thanks to the four month regression, we had a great time!
Along with my Dad, we went to two of our favorite playgrounds: the Clarendon Street playground and the Stoneman Playground (between Mass Ave and Fairfield Street along the Esplanade).
One afternoon, we walked to Flour for a yummy lunch and a few treats. Whenever I’m in the area, I have to stop in for their homemade raspberry seltzer and a sweet treat. Currently obsessed with their vegan chocolate cupcake. Any other Flour fans out there? 🙂
After lunch, we headed back to the Back Bay where Serena met up with us! My parents hosted dinner at their house and these cousins loved spending time running around after each other.
Aren’t they so sweet together?
Remy is going to be FIVE MONTHS old next week. Crazy, right? This doesn’t feel that long ago. He is such a lovable little guy and it’s been so incredible watching him grow. Remy has started to really laugh and he basically thinks that anything Milo does is hysterical.
I’ve been reading a lot lately (currently on book #7 of this year) and trying to slow down in general. Is it just me or does time seem to go faster each year?
