Former Vice President Joe Biden criticized Stop & Shop’s parent company for its stock buybacks and the use of its tax cut, as he spoke to a crowd of hundreds of union workers and supporters in Dorchester on Thursday.

The Democrat was the headline speaker at a rally in support of striking Stop & Shop workers, held in front of the grocery chain’s store in the South Bay shopping plaza. The strike, which involves 31,000 workers across New England, entered its second week on Thursday.
