The Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts, a nonprofit that serves about 30,000 young women, has selected a new leader.

Caitríona Taylor will take the helm of the council on June 3, the organization announced this week. Taylor most recently served as Boston College’s director of campus recreation for eight years.

“I was looking for a leadership role where I could have an impact helping others — that’s what I love to do,” Taylor said in an interview.
