The Avengers might be getting all of the press these days, but the real superheroes are without a doubt The Educators: America’s teachers. Day after day, teachers are charged with educating our children and keeping them safe, yet teachers are rarely thanked or compensated enough for all they do.

Luckily, today is May 7: National Teacher Day, and this week is National Teacher Appreciation Week. To celebrate local teachers, many businesses in the Boston area have special deals and giveaways planned. If you or someone you know is a teacher, don’t let these discounts and freebies pass you by.

Adobe Education Store — Adobe offers teachers year-round discounts on Adobe’s award-winning software.

Apple — Teachers can enjoy year-round discounts on Apple computers, tablets, software, and other products.

Arby’s — This year, participating Arby’s locations are offering one free meat-filled sandwich to teachers and educators on Tuesday, May 7.  Valid school ID required.

Banana Republic — Banana Republic offers teachers 15% off all full priced items with a current school ID.

Barnes & Noble — America’s favorite bookstore chain offers educators a Teacher Appreciation discount for 20% off list prices on all purchases for classroom use. On special Educator Appreciation Days, teachers can also get 25% off.

Buffalo Wild Wings — This week, teachers, faculty, and school staff can get 20% off when dining in any participating Buffalo Wild Wing location.

Chick-fil-A — All locations are giving teachers a free Chick-fil-A sandwich from 11 am to 8 pm on Tuesday, May 7 with a current school ID.

Chipotle — From 3-7 pm on Tuesday, May 7, Chipotle is giving teachers, faculty, staff members, and other educators a free burrito, bowl, taco or salad with the purchase of any other item at full-price. Current school ID required, and each school employee can purchase all they want to enjoy one free item.
