First band Wooing features Rachel Trachtenburg (Supercute, Trachtenburg Family Players) some of their songs were more psych and some were more punk. In other songs she and her bandmate would trade vocals. In other songs Rachel shifted between singing sweetly and screaming.
Fucked Up stormed out of the gate with thrashers new and old. They only did a few from their newest album and wanted to do as many rock songs as they could in the shortish time they had on stage. I wouldn’t necessarily call Fucked Up a hardcore band even though they do rock hard, their musical influences are much more diverse than that.
The Black Lips are going to be putting out a new album in the fall. They premiered a number of songs from this upcoming album. The songs have a garage/country flavor and by country I mean like the country that you’d probably hear at Jesus Drinks Free. I can tell that this new album will be great. They still did old classics from Arabia Mountain & Good Bad Not Evil. I found it neat when Zumi played sax on some of the older songs giving them almost eerie western vibe. They are always great to see live and such nice people to hang out with.
Fucked Up setlist:
David Comes to Life
Carried Out to the Sea
Queen of Hearts
The Other Shoe
Raise Your Voice Joyce
Dose Your Dreams
