A securities business affiliated with Santander Bank will pay $100,000 to end allegations from Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey’s office that it deceptively marketed variable annuity products to Massachusetts customers, including seniors.

Healey’s office accused Santander Securities LLC of failing to make it clear enough to customers that it’s a separate entity from the bank, even though they share the Santander name and the securities unit sells products out of Santander Bank branches.
