Celtics lose a great one. Miss you already Al.
We’ve heard all along that there was a “mystery team” involved in discussions for Al Horford. Seems like we know who that is now.
Five-time All-Star F/C Al Horford has agreed to a four-year, $109M deal with the Philadelphia 76ers, agent Jason Glushon tells ESPN.

The deal includes $97 million in guaranteed money, and $12 million in bonuses tied to winning. The Celtics’ final offer did cover four years but was less in guaranteed money, league sources said.
Woj says that Boston went to 4 years on an offer for Horford, but that the money was too far apart from the $97M guaranteed Horford got from Philadelphia.

That’s a pretty good team.
Josh Richardson-Simmons-Harris-Horford-Embiid — gotta step back and digest all this, but that is a monstrously huge potential starting five.

I really wish Al Horford all the best in the world, but it is hard hearing that he’ll be going to a division rival. Not only do the Celtics lose one of their key Embiid defenders, but he joins Embiid on the Sixers. Not great news.
We’ll see how the Celtics react and adapt from here.Celtics Blog https://www.celticsblog.com/2019/6/30/20658566/report-al-horford-signing-with-philadelphia-76ers-boston-celtics
