Celtics lose a great one. Miss you already Al.

We’ve heard all along that there was a “mystery team” involved in discussions for Al Horford. Seems like we know who that is now.

According to reports, Al Horford is signing with the Philadelphia 76ers.

The deal includes $97 million in guaranteed money, and $12 million in bonuses tied to winning. The Celtics’ final offer did cover four years but was less in guaranteed money, league sources said.

He’ll be joining Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons, Tobias Harris (who just re-signed) and Josh Richardson (acquired via sign-and-trade with Miami for Jimmy Butler).

That’s a pretty good team.

I really wish Al Horford all the best in the world, but it is hard hearing that he’ll be going to a division rival. Not only do the Celtics lose one of their key Embiid defenders, but he joins Embiid on the Sixers. Not great news.

We’ll see how the Celtics react and adapt from here.
