Salem-based Tinti Quinn Grover & Frey PC is planning to merge with a smaller Wellesley law firm, a move intended to grow the firm’s geographic footprint and build up its estate law practice, according to the firm’s leader, Bill Tinti.

Tinti’s firm is merging with King & Navins PC, a five-lawyer boutique specializing in trusts and estates, to form Tinti & Navins PC. The combination will be effective Jan. 1.
