It’s the best time of the year! Personally, I love the stretch between Halloween and New Year’s Eve. It is such a festive time and there are so many fun events and parties going on. (We recently changed the way we share events, and now do a big post once a month instead of every week. Be on the lookout for the December one later this month, and here’s what’s on our radar for November.)
Boston is also becoming a hot spot for big brands to pop-up in addition to being a supportive community to foster growth for local businesses. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve become more interested in quality items and “less” in most aspects of my life. I am excited to peruse some of these pop-ups to buy thoughtful gifts this holiday season… and maybe a little something for myself, too. 🙂
This is not an exhaustive list, but here are some pop-ups that we’re excited to have in Boston this holiday season…
Founders Kaity Cimo and Katharine ReQua share the best products from small businesses, and many things you couldn’t find or didn’t know you needed. In addition to shopping online, For Now has pop-ups in the Seaport as well as Wellesley and Nantucket. We recently gifted this beautiful set of earrings from Kate Bartels for our sister, Carolyn’s birthday! 68 Seaport Boulevard, Boston.
I love skincare and makeup… in fact, I’d say it’s one of my hobbies. I enjoy playing around with makeup, even though I don’t tend to wear much of it day to day, but it’s a way to express myself creatively when I do. I recently picked up a few things from Beautycounter like the popular blush (in Nectar) that is a dupe for Nars Orgasm as well as their new plant-derived retinol serum. I also love their kids line, especially the shampoo. Beautycounter is popping up in the Seaport through December 28. I’m excited to stop in and try out some eye shadows and a heavy duty lotion for winter. 85 G Northern Ave, Boston.
Sh*t That I Knit
At the top of my holiday wish list is a warm handmade winter hat from Boston-based Sh*t That I Knit. If you’re like me and enjoy shopping in person, you can stop into STIK’s Beanie Bar on Northern Ave in the Seaport. The pop-up is open through January 6. This hat and mitten set would make such a nice gift! 85 Northern Ave #85E, Boston.
Artemis Design Co.
I’ve coveted a pair of kilim loafers from Artemis Design Co. for years, and perhaps this holiday season is my chance to snag a pair! Through November 30th, Artemis Design Co. will be at the Four Seasons Boston shop with Choix, a global home and apparel company. The shop will feature velvet slippers (soooo cozy), boots, handbags, and of course carpet and kilim shoes, all from Artemis Design Co. 200 Boylston Street, Boston.
Now open in the Seaport, DADA Daily is a collection of guilt-free indulgences like cheesy cauliflower popcorn and almond butter Brussels sprouts. The interesting combinations are beautifully packaged and would make excellent gifts for any foodie. I am looking forward to stopping into the pop-up which is also in the Seaport. 85 Northern Ave #4, Boston.
Created by social entrepreneur Stacey Boyd, Olivela donates 20% of its proceeds from every purchase to charitable causes around the world. Olivela sells apparel, gifts, and home goods and will be in Boston through December 31st. 85B Northern Ave, Boston.
Did we miss any that are on your radar? xo
